Introduction
Risk management is an important part of corporate governance. Effective risk management leads to good corporate governance and helps raise accountability. Corporate governance (“CG”) is not only applied to the private sector, but also to Non-Governmental Organizations (“NGOs”). In recent years, many NGOs have occurred CG’s incidents, such as Oxfam, Dinghui Temple, Neighbourhood Advice-Action Council, etc., which has noticed the seriousness of inadequate monitoring. Therefore, the management of risk management by NGO management is one of the keys to the success of NGOs.
Training Objective
At the end of the workshop, NGO management:

Will identify potential risks exposed to the NGOs, and their significance

Will understand the fundamental principles of risk management framework

Will appreciate the underlying process and cycle, and resources and people involved in the framework

Will be able to select, communicate and execute risk management framework confidently and effectively

Mr CHAN
EMBA, Professional Accountant (Hong Kong, United Kingdom & Canada)
Mr. Chan is a professional accountant in Hong Kong, the United Kingdom and Canada. He has over 20 years of extensive corporate and financial management experience. He has worked in various companies such as banks, airlines and listed companies. In recent years, he has provided consulting, or training in operations, finance, compliance, and tax management through his own company or other partners. In addition to actively participating in accounting and financial training, Mr. Chan has a longer-term obligation to serve some non-governmental organizations. He is good at using daily life examples and experience sharing to guide participants in the financial and risk management knowledge and applications related to their work.
