Introduction

Stepping into the year 2018, implementing a more comprehensive and high-quality ESG reporting system and report presentation is an inexorable trend across all industries in light of the increasingly mature ESG market, enhancing cognition of listed companies towards ESG Investment, and continuous amplification of the positive correlation between corporate ESG and financial performance. This course aims to lead participants to systematically and comprehensively understand ESG, gradually help you develop the corporate sustainability system, and eventually equip you with the strong capability to prepare, report and evaluate the corporate performance on the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG).

Who should attend

The workshop is intended for corporate sustainability/compliance managers who are involved with ESG reporting and other executives who want to know more about the implications of ESG reporting for their business. It is appropriate for representatives of companies that are new to ESG reporting as well as those that are more established in the reporting process, including listed companies and their supply chain partners.

Course Objectives

Participants will

  1. Acquire the knowledge of current local and global ESG market from various perspectives;

  2. Gain a better understanding of ESG reporting in Hong Kong with the interpretation of HKEx ESG Guide and ESG Review;

  3. Obtain an effective tool-kit assisting companies to initiate, formulate and complete corporate ESG report;

  4. Garner useful methods and valuable insights in global sustainable development and its impact on corporate sustainability strategy.

Course Contents

  1. A thorough interpretation of HKEx ESG Guide and Review;

  2. Benchmark scoring analysis of ESG reporting among listed companies in Hong Kong;

  3. Carbon intensity peer research among listed companies of Hong Kong across all industries;

  4. Eliminating the doubts on data validity in the report;

  5. Practical approaches to the common problems which companies probably will encounter in preparing ESG report;

  6. Information and data collection for reporting on ESG general disclosures and KPIs;

  7. How to use graphical layout for information disclosure to enhance the clarity and comparability of ESG report;

  8. Case studies.

Trainer: Mr Max K.P. TSANG

​Mr. Tsang is presently the Director of Greater China ESG Advisory company.  Mr. Tsang is currently leading a team to advise on effective ESG disclosures in accordance with HKEx guidelines. Mr. Tsang and his team has served over 40 public companies in Hong Kong and Singapore for ESG reporting. He has delivered more than 60 ESG related presentations. He has advised public companies in ESG reporting in manufacturing, property development and management, financial services, retail business, agricultural and energy industries. He has been conducting ESG investment research with his team to help his clients to fulfill the requirements of ESG investment rating and UNPRI to assist clients in value enhance through ESG Integration in policy setting.
